Special Projects
DAEMON: the guardian spirit of a person or place.
DOPPELGANGER: the ghostly duplicate of a living person.
From time to time we have been asked to participate as part of other
events or one-off projects where we can tailor the workshops to fit in
with a particular campaign or enterprise:
In 2011 we worked with The British Museum, at the Egyptian Book of
The Dead Exhibition, in The Great Court, where we ran workshops in
"Shabti" figures (grave goods to accompany the dead to the
afterlife...).
In 2008 we worked with Leicester Comedy Festival on events leading up
to the new Highcross Centre opening. As part of the publicity campaign
throughout Leicestershire we built model buildings from the area which
the public then populated with their clay figures on a large floor map.
The results were exhibited at the new Highcross Centre as part of its opening ceremony. (see Gallery)
In 2009 & 2010 we worked with BBC Headroom as part of their Mental Health Awareness Campaign.
We were invited to be part of a touring programme of relaxing and
therapeutic activities in their specially built area which visited free
events such as Thames Festival, Belfast Maritime Festival, Portsmouth
Mela, Nottingham Riverside, BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, and Strawberry
Fayre in Cambridge.
We then ran 6 workshops simultaneously as part of World Mental Health
Day in Edinburgh, Swansea, London, Portsmouth, Hull and Norwich
alongside other BBC activities. (see Gallery).
We have also run schools workshops in dinosaur making! If it can be made in clay we can help people make whatever they want.
